Dear Edina Parents and Fellow Athletes,

I love playing both hockey and football in Edina!  Being a multi-sport athlete has been an incredible experience for me and I’d like to share that with you.

Playing multiple sports is a lot of fun!  I’ve been able to meet so many incredible people and form awesome friendships along the way.  Being part of a team and working together on the field or rink has strengthened these friendships.

But it’s not just about the friendships – playing two sports has made me a better athlete. My skills in hockey have improved through playing football and my football skills have gotten better from playing hockey.  Playing football helps my speed and playing hockey makes me tougher for football season.

Playing both of these sports keeps me in shape both mentally and physically.  I genuinely look forward to each season and each sport.  I think playing multiple sports has strengthened my love for both by keeping things fresh.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to play two sports in Edina.  The lessons I’ve learned through these athletic experiences extend beyond the field or rink.  Being a multi-sport athlete has taught me the importance of leadership, the value of showing up, the rewards of hard work, and the necessity of being mentally tough.

To all my Edina friends, family and coaches!  Thank you for encouraging me to pursue my interests in both sports and for being my biggest fans!

Go Hornets!
